I happened across your blog on Tastespotting and since you said you’d had trouble locating Moravia…Moravian cookies aren’t actually from Moravia! They actually originated in the US. (I’m from Winston-Salem which has one of the largest Moravian populations in the US. Basically no one outside of North Carolina knows who Moravians are, haha)So here’s the full story:

If you google pictures too you’ll see that although Gourmet calls these Moravian cookies they are not true Moravian cookies. (If you can I would suggest ordering some cause they’re like no other cookie you’ve ever had!)

These look great, and I am sure they smell wonderful as well. You could even use this as a edible gift for the festive season or even make small holes before baking so that they can be tree decoration they are that beautiful. Great job
